I think this must be a spin off. There were several instances where references were made to other characters/situations/place with a casualness that assumed we knew who they were. I found myself confused as to whether this was supposed to be a paranormal/supernatural book, because the “special skills” the Torpedo Ink members exhibited were kinda supernatural, but if they are then it’s not explained well. If they’re not supernatural, there felt like a disconnect as to how their special skills were discovered. The Hero was the wrong kind of Alpha for me and the heroine flip flopped between bad ass and meek. I was super excited to get this ARC from Net Galley; Christine Feehan is a name I’ve seen around and this seemed right up my alley. Turned out to be a swing and a miss.

Loved this book by Shana Figueroa. Not read the first two books but the world was built enough for me not to have needed to. Supernatural Suspense with Twists & turns galore plus Married Couple Romance check it out if you want something great and different.

Kat Martin’s 2007 book brought up to date. Really liked this “Paranormal Suspense”. Autumn Sommers dreams of a young girl turn out to be more than just dreams. She has to persuade Ben McKenzie that the daughter he believed died after a kidnapping 6 years ago is still alive. Enjoyed the way Autumn’s climbing competence was always at the forefront & that Ben often had to take a step back to admit she was more skilled at certain tasks than him. Definitely revisiting this earlier Romance series.
